ITV The Chase fans 'heartbroken' over Shaun Wallace admission

Fans of were left feeling "heartbroken" as one player was sent home this evening. Chaser admitted that the player in seat one was "the best player ever" as he sent him home with nothing.

Host Bradley Walsh had welcomed on four new players as usual - Tom from , Jessica from Lincoln, Felix from Ilfracombe and Linda from Lowestoft. Together they worked as a team to take on the Chaser with the aim of building a cash pot for the final round.

The game got off to an excellent start with Liverpudlian Tom answering every single question correctly in the cash builder round. He ended the first quickfire round with £10,000.

Fans at home were devastated with the outcome. Posting to social media, one X/Twitter user wrote: "Heartbreak!! Unlucky. That's depressing for a Monday. Dang it #thechase."

Another added: "I am so disappointed. I wanted Tom to go through and everyone else to go low so that Twitter/X would explode into a fit of rage. #TheChase."

While a third said: "So unfair! They definitely got the questions out of the hard box for Tom!! Clever lad. #thechase."

Someone else added: "@TheShaunWallace did himself a huge favor knocking out Tom #thechase. Tough break for the team."

A fifth said: "Unlucky Tom, deserved to get through especially when you see people scrape through with little or no knowledge #TheChase."
