Manchester United secured a memorable victory over Chelsea in a thrilling game which saw both teams reduced in numbers. The west Londoners had Robert Sanchez dismissed for a horrific challenge after only four minutes. United were quick to capitalise on their numerical advantage, with Bruno Fernandes opening the scoring from close range.
Chelsea made three changes in the opening 20 minutes but it was not enough to prevent United from doubling their lead through Casemiro. He was then shown a second yellow card just before the break, meaning the numbers were even once again. Trevoh Chalobah headed home with 10 minutes remaining to give Chelsea hope, but United held on to claim all three points.

Man Utd player ratings vs ChelseaAltay Bayindir - 6
Was a spectator for the most part with Chelsea pinned back for much of the contest. Caught flat-footed for Chalobah's late goal.
Patrick Dorgu - 8
Got himself stuck in from the first whistle, bombing forward and getting involved in the final third. Grabbed the assist for United's opening goal and looked strong throughout.
Noussair Mazraoui - 7
Was lucky not to give away a penalty with a heavy challenge on Joao Pedro, but was vital to United's build-up play and made some big defensive contributions.
Matthijs de Ligt - 8
Did his defensive duties well enough while also helping to start attacks from deep, playing much higher than usual. A strong performance on both fronts.
Harry Maguire - 7
Had the better of Joao Pedro for much of the game, helping to protect United's lead. A solid defensive display.
Luke Shaw - 7
Headed into the path of Casemiro as United doubled their advantage before the interval. Another good performer on a memorable day for the hosts.

Bruno Fernandes - 8
Got himself in the right area to mark his 200th appearance with a well-taken goal from close range. Played well in his correct role just behind the front three.
Casemiro - 5
Scored the second goal but let his team down by picking up two yellow cards before the break. His second booking was soft but he should have known better than to give the referee a decision to make.
Bryan Mbeumo - 9
Was the architect for United in the final third with everything going through him. Looked up for the occasion and did not hesitate to pull the trigger in shooting positions. The best player on the pitch.
Amad - 7
Needed a big performance after struggling against Manchester City last weekend. Enjoyed a decent game without setting the world alight.
Benjamin Sesko - 6
Used his physical prowess and smart movement to cause problems for the visitors, but failed to score. Hooked at the break as United looked to shut up shop.
SubstitutesManuel Ugarte - 6
Came on at half-time in place of Benjamin Sesko. Did the basics well enough in the middle of the park.
Matheus Cunha - 6
Introduced on the hour mark, replacing Noussair Mazraoui. Ran a lot, pouncing on loose balls and moving it quickly when needed.
Leny Yoro - 5
Played the final 20 minutes after coming on to replace Harry Maguire. Was caught ball-watching for Chalobah's late goal.
Mason Mount - 5
Came on in place of Bryan Mbeumo for the closing stages. Did little of note.
Kobbie Mainoo - n/a
A late addition.
