ITVX is offering a "masterpiece" period drama to stream for free, and fans have branded it a "hidden gem". Released in 2024, the series was created in part by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, with the Downton writer serving as an executive producer. Set in 1871, it follows the Trenchard family through scandals and romance.

Titled Belgravia: The Next Chapter, the release serves as a sequel to 2020's Belgravia. It stars Harriet Slater as protagonist Clara Trenchard, Ben Wainwright as Lord Frederick Trenchard and Toby Regbo as Reverend James Trenchard.

Also making appearances are Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman and comedy star Miles Jupp.

Fans have turned out in force to recommend the series, with one review stating it was "captivating from start to end!" Somebody else agreed: "Each episode gets better and better. The storyline builds and builds and you're left wanting more."

Another review echoed: "The most beautiful period drama ever. I'm obsessed." A source reviewer echoed: "Loved it, loved it, loved it."

Fans are also keen on the original 2020 series Belgravia, which only consists of six episodes - all penned by Julian Fellowes. He based the series on his 2016 novel, and the TV adaptation stars Tamsin Greig, Philip Glenister and the late Paul Ritter.

With an overwhelming number of five star reviews, the series had one fan gushing: "Belgravia did not disappoint. This 6 episode drama is set in 1815 during the Napoleonic Wars and kept my interest through every episode, and eagerly anticipating the next."

Someone else wrote: "My husband and I were riveted. Watched each episode more than a few times. As good if not better than Downton Abbey [...] Acting was superb especially Harriet Walters. Wish there could be a season 2... I can see ways to go on but know that is a lot to ask of Julian Fellowes, cast and crew. Costumes were great, too."
