It is not confirmed what caused the injury, but many of his fans have wished him a speedy recovery. One person commented, "Oh dear what happened?" as a second chimed in, "What you done piers."

Fellow Good Morning Britain host Charlotte Hawkins left a shocked-face emoji in the comments section. Meanwhile, Piers' son Spencer found the funny side and commented, "Always knew Bigfoot was real."
