Prince Harry's comment on Meghan Markle being different sparks royal fan frenzy

The Duke of Sussex, who married Meghan in 2018, claimed that his wife's previous acting career made it harder for the press to "cast her in a particular role".

Harry on American channel ABC last year ahead of the release of his bombshell memoir, Spare, in January and resurfaced recently again before the book's paperback edition release on Thursday.

In a TikTok video, the duke can be heard claiming that the press had the "opportunity" to cast women who married into the Royal Family before Meghan "in a particular role" because they had arrived into the limelight "almost with a blank slate".

He continued: "And when Meghan came into the fold they tried to do that to her as well. But she was coming into a relationship with me in her mid-30s.

"She had a very public career of which millions of people knew who she was because they'd been following her but this time fans and people that knew Meghan were pushing back and saying that's categorically false.

"You can't say that based on the fact we know who she is."

The video, which has amassed some 77,400 views and has been liked nearly 6,000 times, featured the caption: "It's how Prince Harry has never held back from reminding people that unlike other women who married into the Royal Family with 'a blank slate' Meghan had her own successful life, a career, had her own money, had created her own path in the world.

"It's his friends saying how they wished Harry meets(sic) someone who had already created their own path in life.

"Prince Harry choosing to spit nothing but facts. Meghan had a successful job, was travelling the world for charity work with #unitednations #worldvision."

Royal fans praised the duke for his comments and took to the comment section to express their opinion.

One user wrote: "They are absolutely perfect for each other."
