Terry Bradshaw makes stance clear on Mike McCarthy and Micah Parsons as crunch talks held

legend has issued a stern warning to Mike McCarthy and Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys following their latest home defeat. The Texas franchise suffered a crushing 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, marking their sixth defeat in nine games.

McCarthy's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and Bradshaw believes the Cowboys probably won't fancy renewing the 61-year-old coach's contract. "I think Mike McCarthy is probably going to get released at the end of the year," Bradshaw, 76, said on FOX NFL Sunday.

"They had three years in a row where they had 12-5 seasons but they haven't won one playoff game. Their quarterback [Dak Prescott] is out now. They've spent £281million ($360m) on a quarterback, wide receiver [CeeDee Lamb] and defensive cornerback in Trevon Diggs."

Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, has repeatedly been questioned about McCarthy's future but maintains that he will stick with the former Green Bay Packers coach until the end of the season. "I don't believe we'll make a coaching change during the season," he recently told reporters.

Doubts about McCarthy's future seem to have filtered down to the Dallas' locker room too, with linebacker Parsons, 25, causing controversy after appearing to criticise his head coach. But Bradshaw thinks The Cowboys should send Parsons, who has just one year left on his contract, packing too.

"My answer to Dallas' problems is they need more talent so I would take Parsons and I wouldn't sign him," he said. "He's in his fourth year and would be in his fifth year. Trade him and get an extra No. 1."

Parsons was visibly frustrated after the Cowboys' loss to Philadelphia and appeared to lash out at McCarthy. "Mike can leave and go wherever he wants," he told reporters. "Guys I kind of feel bad for [are] guys like Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out.

"Because that's who I wanted to hold the trophy for. You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did. Those are the kind of guys that I have so much sympathy and hurt for."

Later, Parsons sought to clarify his earlier comments on , assuring fans he had no intention of undermining McCarthy: "The question that I was asked was did I see Mike McCarthy in our future, and I said that's above my pay grade," he explained. "Not once did I intend to reflect on McCarthy or his career. I have a great relationship with him."

After Parsons' remarks made headlines, coach McCarthy summoned the player for a one-on-one meeting. "Micah and I had a conversation this morning about it," the Super Bowl XLV-winning coach revealed, before suggesting that they've put the matter to rest.

"We handled those things as men should handle it," he added. "[Criticizing me] wasn't his intent, but that's something he can talk on."
