have brought viewers a brand new "drama full of paranoia". The Feud is the addictive domestic thriller about a "neighbour war" that is set to play on every emotion. Starring Emma (played by Jill Halfpenny) and John Barnett (played by Rupert Penry-Jones) are the happy couple at the centre of the series, living an idyllic life on Shelbury Drive.
But fans may recall actor Rupert appeared in another captivating drama which has been branded the "best programme ever made by ITV". The detective series Whitechapel, which is available to stream on Netflix, first aired in the UK in 2009 and depicted the search for a modern copycat killer replicating the murders of Jack the Ripper.
A second series was commissioned by ITV in September 2009 with the focus on the Kray twins.
A third series was commissioned by ITV in March 2011, which was extended to six episodes as three two-part stories.
ITV renewed Whitechapel for a fourth and final series consisting of six episode but in 2013 lead actor Rupert confirmed the show would not be returning.
Speaking about the series, a fan gushed: "One of the most entertaining programs ever!!! Great production values, top notch cast, and not your standard crime drama where everyone is suspect with a million secrets. ITV, which produced it, decided to cancel it after 4 seasons. They should have at least produced one more season to finish it up."
Another commented: "Whitechapel is quite simply one of the best Programmes ITV has ever made."
A third agreed: "One of the best series I've watched as it is full of atmosphere, connecting past and present in the streets of Whitechapel. The two main characters are fantastic opposites who fight grisly crimes with the help of the quirky self appointed Ripper expert. It is genuinely one of the most creepy series and it is such a shame that series 5 never materialized as it was obviously the one where some of the underlying mysteries would have been explained."
A fourth added: "Really fun with a fantastic cast."
