A lounging monkey swiftly came to the rescue of a woman in to perform a thorn-removing "operation". The macaque amazed onlookers as it expertly removed each thorn from her arm with extreme precision while lounging nonchalantly on a log.

In videos shared online from the city of , in central China's Henan Province, the woman held out her arm while the primate inspected it before it rapidly plucked the thorns out using its tiny fingers. The animal acts with quick precision, removing the thorns in seconds before continuing to lounge around.

The woman meanwhile lifts her arm in relief, showing the thorns that had been troubling her had all been removed.

The clip has sparked a huge reaction online and received nearly 2.5 million likes.

One user on Douyin, China's version of TikTok, commented: "Monkey: I really don't know how you evolved."

Another called 'Zhang Debo' said: "This is a literal animal doctor."

And 'Mandy' added: "It is so skillful, it plucked them out quickly and precisely."
