Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's romantic comedy Jab We Met has a special fanbase. The Imtiaz Ali directorial, which was released in 2017, often finds its way back into the cinema halls. This Valentine's Day too the much-loved movie was re-released in theatres and the videos from the screening proved that the love for Jab We Met is undying.

Will Imtiaz Ali make a sequel?

Fans have been eagerly waiting for an update on the sequel, however, Imtiaz has officially never denied or confirmed it. In a recent interview, he was once again asked for a comment.

The Amar Singh Chamkila director hinted that there's little to no possibility. He told News18 Showsha, “Why have a sequel to Jab We Met (laughs)? If people want to keep relishing the film, they can keep watching the first one! There has to be a story and a reason to make Jab We Met 2. But let’s see if it happens. Never say never!”

Is Imtiaz Ali scared of Jab We Met 2 having the same fate as Love Aaj Kal?

“I made Love Aaj Kal the second time and people didn’t love it that much (laughs). Just kidding! That’s not the reason why I don’t want to make a sequel to Jab We Met. But unless there’s a really passionate reason to make a sequel, one shouldn’t,” he added.

The filmmaker, however, would love to work with Kareena again. He said that he doesn't want to just collaborate with her for the sake of it. The project has to be “better or completely different,” he said.
