Immediately seal Sikar PHED engr's office: HC

Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court Tuesday ordered immediate sealing and attachment of the office of PHED's superintendent engineer (SE) for Sikar Circle for deliberately disobeying the court's order on payment of minimum wages to pump operators working in Janta Jal Yojana. The court also ordered that he not be allowed to enter the chamber. The court asked the district judge, Sikar, to ensure the attachment and sealing of the office. The court also ordered to make arrangements for him to work outside the chamber.

The single bench of Justice Sudesh Bansal also asked additional chief secretary, PHED, to ensure compliance with the order given by the court on Aug 21, 2020, and Oct 16, 2020, regarding giving minimum wages to the petitioners.

Along with this, a notice should be issued to the superintending engineer, and an explanation should be sought as to why departmental action should not be taken against him. In the petition, advocate Vinayak Joshi told the court that the petitioner was working as a pump operator in the Janta Jal Yojana of PHED. TNN
