Woman sentenced to 20 years in prison for abducting, sexually exploiting 17-year-old boy in Rajasthan's Bundi

KOTA: A POCSO court in Bundi awarded 20-year imprisonment to a 30-year-old woman on Saturday for abducting and sexually exploiting a 17-year-old boy from nearby her village under Deikheda police station two years ago in October 2023. Additionally, the court imposed a penalty of Rs. 45,000 upon the convict.

Acting on the order of the juvenile justice court at Bundi, police registered a case of abduction and sexual exploitation of a 17-year-old boy against Lalibai Mogiya, 30, at Deikheda police station, Bundi district, on November 7, 2023, according to public prosecutor at POCSO court-1, Bundi, Mukesh Joshi.

In the report submitted to the juvenile justice board, the survivor’s mother alleged that Lalibai, wife of Phorulal Mogia, both residents of the same police station area, lured her 17-year-old son and took him to Jaipur.

She further alleged that Lalibai stayed in a room in Jaipur, where she repeatedly intoxicated her son with liquor and sexually exploited him over a period of 6-7 days.

Following the order from the JJ board, Bundi, the police, based on the mother’s report, registered a case of abduction and sexual exploitation under section 363 of the IPC, sections 75, 84 of the JJ Act, and sections 5L/6 of the POCSO Act.

The accused woman was arrested after an initial investigation and medical examination of the survivor; however, she was later granted bail.

Judge Salim Badra of POCSO court-1 found Lalibai Mogiya guilty of abduction and sexual exploitation of minor boy under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and sentenced her to 20 years’ imprisonment along with a penalty of Rs. 45,000.
