Raipur: Chhattisgarh marked International Yoga Day with widespread enthusiasm on Saturday, as chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai and governor Ramen Deka led celebrations in Jashpur and Raipur, urging citizens to embrace yoga as a daily practice for a healthier life.
At Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur, CM Sai joined thousands of citizens, school students, govt officials, and public representatives in a mass yoga session. CM Sai urged people to set aside a few minutes daily for yoga, saying that it would not only help cure serious diseases but also prevent them. Later, the CM laid the foundation stone Nalanda Campus to be built on two acres at a cost of Rs 11.29 crore, and laid foundations for 64 development projects worth Rs 107.81 crore across Jashpur. In Raipur, governor Ramen Deka presided over a yoga event, describing yoga as a practice that connects the body, mind, and soul. Deka also mentioned that he has directed officials to promote yoga awareness.
