H'bag minor boy drowns in village pond

Chatra: A 10-year-old boy, Shakti Kumar, drowned in a pond at Gadisadam village under Kablasi panchayat in Hazaribag district on Friday evening. But the 14-year-old sister informed her family members only on Saturday.

Shakti slipped and fell into the water when his elder sister was washing clothes at the pond. The family, unaware of the incident, searched for him throughout the night. The truth emerged when the sister revealed the incident .

Villagers' attempts to recover the body proved futile.

Officer in-charge of the Daru police station, Saif Khan, arrived at the scene and assured the family members that an NDRF team would be deployed.
