Ranchi: The department of school education and literacy directed govt schools to conduct monthly school management committee meetings on the 25th of every month, beginning April, by bringing together parents and school administrators. There are over 35,000 schools across the state.
"Regular meetings are crucial in strengthening the role of SMCs in development and monitoring of schools. Each meeting will follow a well-defined structure," said Shashi Ranjan, project director of Jharkhand Education and Project Council (JEPC).
The agenda includes reviewing earlier meeting decisions, discussing implementation progress, and addressing compliance challenges to maintain transparency and decision-making continuity.
Schools must maintain detailed documentation of all discussions and resolutions. The next meeting's date and time should be determined during the current session. Principals will have to upload signed meeting proceedings to the e-Vidyavahini portal by the 28th of each month.
