Aamir Khan is coming back to the silver screen with his new film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', whose trailer was released yesterday to widespread appreciation. Interestingly, 'Lal Singh Chaddha' co-star has extended his best wishes to the entire team.
Naga Chaitanya, who made his Bollywood debut alongside Aamir in 'Lal Singh Chaddha' in 2022, shared the trailer on social media, calling it heartwarming.
On X (formerly Twitter), the actor wrote, "This looks lovely Aamir sir…so heartwarming. Best wishes to the entire team."
'Sitaare Zameen Par', directed by RS Prasanna, tells the story of Gulshan, played by Aamir, a troubled basketball coach who is court-ordered to train a team of intellectually disabled players for a tournament. Initially harsh and dismissive, Gulshan's journey with the team leads to personal growth and a deeper understanding of what normalcy truly means. The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh as Aamir’s love interest, along with the other cast members. Alongside Genelia, the cast includes Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, and several actors portraying the basketball team members.
'Sitaare Zameen Par' is not a direct sequel to the 2007 classic 'Taare Zameen Par', but the title pays homage to that film’s spirit.
Aamir Khan was last seen in the 2022 film 'Lal Singh Chaddha', a Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood classic 'Forrest Gump'. Aamir’s portrayal of the titular character received mixed reviews, with some critics finding his performance inconsistent. The film also starred Kareena Kapoor.
The film is scheduled to release on June 20, 2025.
Speaking of Naga Chaitanya's acting front, he was last seen in the hit film, 'Thandel'. He will be next seen in a mythological thriller, which is tentatively titled 'NC24' directed by Karthik Dandu.
