Television actor Amit Tandon, best known for his roles in Dill Mill Gayye and Kasam, recently opened up about the deeply painful journey of his marriage to Ruby Tandon. In a heartfelt conversation with Siddharth Kanan, Amit confessed to cheating on Ruby multiple times in the past, revealing how his actions profoundly hurt her and nearly ended their relationship. Despite the heartache, he describes Ruby as a "strong woman" for ultimately standing by him, with the couple even renewing their vows after overcoming these challenges.

Amit reminisced about the early days of their love, sharing how he proposed to Ruby on the set of one of his shows. The couple’s initial years were filled with love and hope, but as time passed, cracks in their relationship began to emerge. Amit attributed part of the issue to the fact that they lived independently without family around. He explained, “I'm a hot-headed Arian, and she’s a hot-headed Scorpio. If we’d had family nearby, they might have been there to calm us down or keep us apart during fights. But living alone, our conflicts often escalated."

Over time, these fights weakened their bond, and Amit admitted that his old, impulsive ways resurfaced, leading him to infidelity. Reflecting on the pain this caused Ruby, he admitted, “Yes, I did cheat on her. For some time, she didn’t even know, but when she found out, it broke her. A woman who leaves her family to be with you doesn’t deserve that hurt; it creates a crack that sometimes doesn’t repair.”

In an attempt to mend their relationship, Amit and Ruby decided to have a child, hoping it would bring them closer. However, Amit acknowledged that this was a mistake, saying that a child doesn’t automatically fix marital issues. By 2017, things reached a breaking point, and they filed for divorce. Amit moved on to another relationship, but he believes that fate had other plans for them. Gradually, the two found their way back to each other, and last year, they renewed their vows, embracing a fresh start with a renewed understanding of love and commitment.
