Cristiano Ronaldo to replace Neymar at Al Hilal: Report

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move to Al-Hilal as a replacement for the injured Neymar . It has been reported that the Saudi Pro League club are ready to terminate the Brazilian's contract and bring the Portuguese striker to their squad.

The move would send shockwaves in Saudi football as the 39-year-old has scored 68 goals in 78 appearances for Al-Nassr since his big-money move from Manchester United.

As per the Catalan media outlet SPORT, Al-Hilal aren't willing to bet on the 32-year-old Neymar staying injury free and are not keen to register him for competitions.

Neymar spent a year on the sidelines after picking up an ACL injury. In the second game back, he picked up a hamstring issue during the AFC Champions League game against Esteghlal and was substituted after less than 30 minutes.

Ever since he signed he joined Al-Hilal until 2025, Neymar has played only 7 official matches, scoring one and providing three assists.

Ronaldo had confirmed his commitment to Al-Nassr in an August interview with a Portuguese TV channel. “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al Nassr . I’m happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue,” he said.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022 and has been a prolific scorer for the club.

Focus on international duty

Ronaldo also spoke about his international duty with Portugal: “When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one. Right now what I want is to be able to help the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League ahead of us and I would really like to play.”
