The conversation started with one of the fans posting the video of Rohit and Virat and comparing their techniques.
Responding to that tweet, Gibbs said: “It’s up to the batting coach to give him (Virat Kohli) more options to score no matter who the batter is.. thank me later.”
The 36-year-old Kohli was part of the "Fab Four" quartet of batting greats who dominated Test cricket over the past decade, alongside Steve Smith of Australia, Kane Williamson of New Zealand and Joe Root of England.
His response created quite a stir and then he was directly, who between the two is more aesthetically pleasing.
Gibbs said: “Rohit was always more technically correct than Virat. But Virat’s desire to dominate, especially in white ball format, is a major difference between the two batters.”
Who's that IPL player?
“You ever see Rohit defend balls on 4th or 5th stump? How many times did Virat get out doing just that? Rohit definitely technically better than Virat,” Gibbs explained further.
Both Virat and Rohit has announced his retirement from Test cricket recently.
Rohit Sharma played 67 Tests and has scored 4301 runs in his Test career. Virat Kohli ended his Test career after playing 123 Tests with 9230 runs against his name.
