Elon Musk claims X registered “all-time high usage”, this is the likely reason

Send Push
Elon Musk has claimed that his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, registered a record-breaking user engagement coinciding with the recent US presidential election. He reported an all-time high of 434.1 billion users per second on the day the election results were announced, handing Donald Trump his second term as the US President.

“All-time high usage of this platform!” Musk said in a post.

He also claimed that the election week also registered “highest all-time high of usage”.

“The 𝕏 platform reached another all-time high of usage this week!”

Reportedly, this surge in activity surpasses the previous record of 417 billion user seconds set in July 2024.

US elections may be the reason
While Musk did not disclose specific reasons for the spike, it's likely that the highly charged political climate and the outcome of the election played a major role. The platform essentially became one of the sources of news consumption, with users flocking to X to share their thoughts, follow updates, and engage in debates.

How internet reacted to Musk's claims
Musk's posts garnered much attention with people supporting his claims.

We need more Germans on X!!!
X is Freedom!

I’m probably responsible for a billion of those seconds

X is miles ahead of all other platforms!

The engagement during the election was amazing

What do you think is causing this spike, other than the fact that this platform is AWESOME?
