I'm sure everyone can relate to this: we all desire clear, glowing skin and healthy, shiny hair. After all, the skin is the largest and most visible organ in the body, and a good hair day can lift anyone's spirits. But with our busy schedules and hectic lifestyles, it can be challenging to give our skin and hair the attention they deserve. Rajisha Vijayan, an advocate of holistic well-being and a renowned Malayalam actress, shares 3 tips she follows for radiant skin and hair:

Hair and skincare routine
Taking care of my skin and hair is a priority for me. As an actress, there are lot of products I need to apply both on my hair and on my face, also the harsh lights during shooting can be detrimental to skin and hair health. I believe that a simple, yet consistent routine works wonders. I make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day, drinking plenty of water and my hair well-nourished. Incorporating a well-balanced diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, and nuts, especially almonds, is a crucial part of my beauty regimen. I have found that almonds provide the essential nutrients my skin and hair need to stay healthy; in fact according to Ayurveda, almonds can help enhance skin glow! Now, who doesn’t want that? I also make time for a quick but effective daily skincare routine, cleansing my face daily and moisturizing to keep it refreshed. When it comes to my hair, I make sure to opt to use less to no products while I’m not shooting. For me, it is about finding a balance that works for me amid the busyness of life.

Always carry healthy snacks
I personally try to follow a healthy lifestyle and maintain a balanced diet. I always rely on my trusty box of almonds that I carry with me everywhere especially during travel or shoots as they keep me fuller. On a daily basis, I consume a handful of almonds as a pre or post workout snack as it gives a boost of energy and makes me feel fuller and are rich in fibre content; this also helps to avoid snacking on unwholesome alternatives. Almond are also rich in Vitamin-E so it does wonders to my skin health too! From time to time, I like to spice things up and prepare rasam spiked almonds, as they pair well with various Indian masalas/spices, making them a great addition to several dishes. I also do a mix of workouts: yoga, weight training and cardio through the week as I like to keep it interesting.

Stay hydrated
This is something that I do religiously. Sometimes when we feel hungry, we are just thirsty! So, I always make sure I stay hydrated throughout the day, during shoots. There are multiple ways to achieve this: eating hydrating foods like cucumbers, oranges, watermelon and strawberries. I also try to incorporate hydrating face masks in my skin care routine at least once a week.
