NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday hailed Indian Army for carrying out ' Operation Sindoor ' on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Jaishankar reiterated India's stance against terrorism , saying, "The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism."

The IAF carried out precision strikes on nine high-value terror targets deep inside Pakistani territory following Pahalgam terror attack.

The operation targeted nine locations, including Jaish-e-Mohammed’s base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hub in Muridke.

Utilising advanced precision weapons and intelligence-based targeting, the Army, Navy, and Air Force coordinated the strikes without engaging Pakistani military sites.

The defence ministry called the operation “focused and non-escalatory.” Prime Minister Modi had earlier vowed a strong response to terrorism, granting the military full operational freedom. Operation Sindoor, the Army stated, was India’s answer: “Justice is Served.”

Following the precision strikes, India reached out to several world capitals and briefed senior officials about its anti-terror actions against Pakistan.

NSA Ajit Doval spoke to US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio and briefed him on the actions taken.
