Three-year-old Laurent Schwarz while still in nappies, has gained social media fame and earned the nickname of Germany's "mini-Picasso" for his paintings.

At their home in Neubeuern, Bavaria, his parents have set up a studio where the toddler creates vibrant, large-scale abstract artworks, often several times his size. Alongside his love for dinosaur toys, Laurent enjoys spreading acrylic paint on canvas, using brushes, rollers, and even his fingers to bring his colorful ideas to life.

Lisa Schwarz, Laurent's 33-year-old mother, revealed that they first noticed his passion for painting last year during a family holiday at a hotel that had a studio.

"When we got home, Laurent just wanted to paint -- paint, paint, paint, the whole time," she said.

She and her husband, Philipp, decided to buy Laurent some canvases, brushes, and paints, and it wasn’t long before family and friends were eager to see the young prodigy’s creations.

To make sharing his artwork easier, they created an Instagram account, and they were soon amazed by the enthusiastic response.

Within four weeks, we had gained 10,000 followers," Lisa shared, noting that soon after, galleries began reaching out, and newspapers in Germany and internationally labeled Laurent the "mini-Picasso."

Now, the Instagram account has 90,000 followers, and during a sale of Laurent’s work in September, buyers from across the globe expressed interest, his parents said.

While some pieces have sold for hundreds of thousands of euros, they preferred not to disclose specific details about sales or buyers.

Laurent's parents shared that they are safeguarding the proceeds from his artwork in an account set up in his name, which he will be able to access once he reaches adulthood.

"He can study painting, buy a car, play an instrument, play football... It's up to him to choose," said Philipp, 43.

"The important thing for us is that he's happy."
