The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry recently paid heartwarming tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana , sharing their "secret connection” during his speech at the 2024 Concordia Annual Summit , where he revealed the special bond they shared, referring to it as their "secret connection."
Harry also commended the efforts of the team headed by Dr. Tessy OJo, while they recognised his dedication to continuing Princess Diana's humanitarian work , her legacy and philanthropy .
The younger son of King Charles III, who attended the summit to address the Diana Award took the stage and smiled as he walked to his seat while holding a microphone.
"I know that my mum would be incredibly proud of you guys, All of the award winners, and Tessy, you've been in this for a very long time. So thank you for that as well. The way that you do it, your activism, your compassion, those two things are so true to how my mum led her life and what she believed in,” Harry said addressing the Diana Award winners, The Mirror US reported.
“The way that you do it is incredible,” he added.
During the discussion with Dr Ojo, Harry was accompanied by two former Diana Award winners, Christina Williams and Chiara Riyanti Hutapea Zhang, as they addressed the mental health crisis affecting young people.
A royal source told The Mirror US, why upholding Princess Diana's philanthropic work is of utmost importance to Harry revealing their close bond, a powerful means of keeping her memory alive.
"Harry is devoted to upholding his mother's legacy - as it's the one thing that keeps her memory alive for him. Harry sees himself in his mother so much, they are almost like spirit twins in their nature and their approach to things. That's one of the reasons Harry is devoted to talking about the good she did to bring awareness to landmines, and in turn is devoted to supporting charities to continue the work Princess Diana was so passionate about,” the source added.
Diana Award was a charity established 25 years ago in honor of Princess Diana. The award recognises young individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the world.
