US President Donald Trump took a rare dig at his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin , and said that it is "possible" that may have ambitions of invading other countries after Ukraine.
At the press conference after the conclusion of the Nato Summit, Trump acknowledged that Putin presented greater challenges in mending the broken relationship between Russia and Ukraine.
When Gray TV correspondent Jon Decker questioned Trump about Russia's position as an adversary and potential territorial ambitions beyond Ukraine, Trump acknowledged the possibility.
"It's possible. I mean, it's possible," New York Post quoted Trump as saying.
"Vladimir Putin has been more difficult. Frankly, I've had some problems with Zelensky," Trump stated when discussing his campaign promise to resolve the conflict within 24 hours. "It's been more difficult than other wars."
Trump said that he believed that Putin is "misguided" in his ambitions.
"I know one thing: He'd like to settle, he'd like to get out of this thing. It's a mess for him," Trump stated to journalists in The Hague after the two-day Western leaders' conference concluded.
"I consider him a person that's, I think, been misguided. I'm very surprised, actually. I thought we would have had that settled."
