'Saturday Night Live openly mocking Kamala Harris for being an alcoholic'

Send Push
For a long time, the MAGA crowd has claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris has a “drinking problem”. Earlier, Trump’s campaign manager James Blair pushed the unsubstantiated claim and Loomer added fuel to the fire after this week’s SNL where a mock Harris is watching the Tim Walz vs JD Vance debate.

Loomer, a conspiracy theorist who is very close to Donald Trump , wrote on X: “Saturday Night Live openly mocking Kamala Harris for being an alcoholic. Everyone can see it.”

This week on NBC 's Saturday Night Live , Kamala Harris was portrayed as being so stressed that she almost chose to watch Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story instead of witnessing her running mate interact with JD Vance during the vice-presidential debate. Heidi Gardner and Chloe Fineman played moderators Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan in this week’s cold open. It showed Harris (played by Maya Rudolph) and her “GRILF” husband Doug Emhoff (portrayed by Andy Samberg, who also appeared in a new digital short) at home, ready to watch Tim Walz’s debate with Vance.

Jim Gaffigan’s Walz, when not furiously scribbling as if grading papers, made an awkward statement about being friends with school shooters, echoing a verbal slip made by the real Walz earlier in the week.

Even Doug, typically mild-mannered, acknowledged that Harris’s running mate was making people nervous, commenting that his “nice guys” group chat with Josh Gad and Jason Kelce had taken a gloomy tone.

Bowen Yang’s portrayal of Vance came across as evasive, while Gaffigan’s Walz offered a bizarre explanation for a Tiananmen Square confusion, saying he had been at EPCOT and shrugging it off with, "I'm a knucklehead!"
What ultimately caused Harris to snap, smashing a wine glass in frustration, was watching Walz and Vance unexpectedly agree on certain issues as Take My Breath Away played in the background. She exclaimed, "Why are they vibing?!"
Later, President Joe Biden (played by Dana Carvey) wandered into the Harris-Emhoff living room, casually holding a dripping ice cream cone and rambling about how vice presidents don’t hold much significance. He even jokingly questioned, “Who the hell was Obama’s VP? Nobody knows!”

Incidentally, the real Harris hasn’t said a word so far about Walz’s performance that wasn’t particularly great.
Donald Trump's campaign team has been pushing unsubstantiated claims about Kamala Harris, alleging she has a "drinking problem." These allegations first surfaced when James Blair, the political director for Trump's 2024 campaign, posted about it on X (formerly Twitter), gaining significant attention. Despite the lack of evidence supporting these claims, the narrative has been echoed by Trump supporters across social media.

Some of Trump's allies, including his running mate JD Vance, have joined in with personal attacks on Harris, though not specifically about drinking. Vance, known for discussing addiction issues in his own family, has made light comments about his own alcohol consumption. However, these personal attacks, including those aimed at Harris' intelligence and appearance, have been criticised by Republicans like Senator Lindsey Graham, who warn that this approach could backfire.
