DHAKA: Bangladesh’s chief adviser Muhammad Yunus introduced to the global audience his special assistant Mahfuz Alam as the person behind the revolution in July-August.
“He (Mahfuz) is behind the whole revolution… but he denied repeatedly that ‘it’s not me, but many others’ … but now we recognise the brain be hind the whole thing,” Yunus said at an event in New York on Tuesday in the presence of former US president Bill Clinton .
Though advisers Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud were known faces of the revolution, Mahfuz, who hails from Lakshmipur district , quietly led the movement remotely. Mahfuz came into the limelight when he was appointed special assistant to Yunus.
