NEW DELHI — The Tata Nexon EV, India’s bestselling electric SUV, continues to raise the bar in the EV segment as Bharat NCAP extends its prestigious 5-star safety rating to the newly introduced 45 kWh battery pack variants. The rating reaffirms Tata Motors’ commitment to safety, innovation, and performance in the fast-growing EV market.
Previously tested and awarded for earlier versions, the updated crash test rating confirms that the newer high-capacity Nexon EV variants meet the same rigorous safety standards.
Top Scores in Adult and Child Safety CategoriesThe Nexon EV scored an impressive 29.86 out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection segment. It secured 14.26/16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, and 15.60/16 in the side impact test. In the Child Occupant Protection category, the electric SUV achieved 44.95 out of 49 points, showcasing its strength as a family-friendly, secure electric vehicle.
With this update, all Nexon EV variants, including those with the 45 kWh battery pack, are now officially rated as among the safest electric vehicles on Indian roads.
Tata Nexon EV 45: Extended Range and Enhanced FeaturesThe 45 kWh variant of the Nexon EV offers more than just increased safety—it delivers improved performance and range. Tata Motors claims a MIDC range of 489 km, while real-world usage reports suggest an average of 330 km per charge, depending on driving style and conditions. The C75-rated range is estimated between 350 to 375 km.
