Google Expands NotebookLM Audio Overviews to Hindi and 50+ Languages: Here's What You Need to Know

Google has announced a major expansion of NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews feature, which now supports Hindi and over 50 additional languages. This move aims to make AI-generated audio summaries more accessible to a wider audience across the globe, especially in multilingual regions like India.

NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews: What’s New?

The Audio Overviews feature in NotebookLM converts source text into podcast-style conversations, enabling easier comprehension of lengthy or complex content. Initially limited to a few languages, the tool can now generate audio outputs in Hindi, Turkish, and dozens of other languages using Google’s Gemini-powered language model.

Key Enhancements:

• New Output Language Option: Users can now select their preferred output language in NotebookLM’s settings. Once selected, all audio summaries will be generated in that language.

• Dynamic Language Switching: Users can change the language at any time, and the audio output will adapt accordingly—useful for students, researchers, and creators working across multilingual environments.

Google says this update is a step towards breaking language barriers and enhancing access to AI-powered learning and content tools.
