Anthony Joshua remains a homebody at heart, still residing with his mother. The 34-year-old heavyweight is gearing up for a pivotal IBF title clash against Daniel 'DDD' Dubois at Wembley Stadium, a victory that could propel him towards the pinnacle of boxing glory.

Joshua, who has previously held an impressive array of titles including the WBC International, Commonwealth, British, IBF, WBA (Super), WBO, and IBO heavyweight belts, has been without a title since his points defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021. A triumph over 27-year-old Dubois would not only secure the IBF belt but also set the stage for a potential unification bout against the victor of the upcoming rematch between Usyk and Tyson Fury this December.

Joshua's rigorous training regime often takes him across the globe, particularly to the United States, as he hones his skills for these major fights. This nomadic lifestyle is precisely why Joshua admits to still living under the same roof as his mother, Yeta.

In a candid chat on Good Morning Britain, AJ explained: "I still live with my mum. I realised that when I started training - which I do away from home a lot - that if I'm away for 10 months of the year and then when I get back I've got to do commercial work I realise that if I was to move out I'd never actually see my mum."

He added: "I'm away in various parts of the world for a lot of the time, but my actual base is at home with mum. So I can still wake up and see her and spend time with her when I can," reports the Mirror. The heartfelt confession prompted presenter Susanna Reid to amusingly add: "That is so lovely. That is just like the tender heart of someone who is about to go into a ring and try and knock someone out."

Joshua delved deeper into family matters during the chat, confessing that his mum sometimes finds it too nerve-wracking to watch his bouts. He went on: "Sometimes she doesn't show up, she stays behind and she prays a lot. She says she can't really watch her son because she doesn't enjoy it. It's tough for her, of course, but she enjoys the fruits of her labour. I take care of my mum a lot, I love her dearly."

With a $83million (£63.5m) fortune attributed to his name according to Forbes, AJ is not short on options for lavish homes across the globe, should he ever wish to move out from his mother's. His financial achievements include staggering earnings from his fights reported as hauling in $75million (£57.4m) from his 2022 rematch against Usyk and pocketing $72million (£55.1m) from his victorious Andy Ruiz Jr bout in 2019 - placing him in an enviable position when contrasted with the financial takings of his pugilist peers.
